Amy is a native Austinite with a background in marketing and communications. Amy spent the last 6 years with Dell, where she wore a multitude of hats. As a key member of the Marketing Development Fund (MDF) team, Amy collaborated with major technology partners like Microsoft, Adobe, VMware & RedHat. Amy also served as Project Manager of a promotional program designed for top-tier software partners.
Prior to Dell, Amy worked as a Database Manager for ETS-Lindgren, a high-tech manufacturing firm. Among their clients were Raytheon and NASA. Amy helped to build and maintain a custom CRM system used by customer service, sales and marketing. Amy has also dwelled in the ad agency realm, radio promotions and the world of telecommunications. In a past life, she was once known as “Brooke Lane: On-Air Personality” for a radio station in Wichita Falls, TX.
Amy comes from a long line of energy industry workers. Her grandfather on her mom’s side served as Head of Production at Cities Service Oil in Lake Charles, LA. Amy’s grandfather on her dad’s side started as a chemist, and eventually became Lab Supervisor for Petroleum Chemicals in Sulphur, LA. Amy’s dad was an Accountant at Stauffer Chemicals on the Houston ship channel.
In her spare time, Amy’s passion is DOGS; her own (2 Chihuahuas) and others. Amy’s first volunteer experience was with Town Lake Animal Center as a part of the Dog Manners group, teaching the dogs basic manners in an attempt to make them more adoptable. For the last 10 years, Amy has volunteered with Austin Dog Rescue (ADR), and has been their website listing coordinator as well as monthly e-mail newsletter designer/producer, and has helped with ad hoc projects like transporting dogs from rural shelters and working meet-and-greet events. Most recently, Amy joined the Bastrop Animal Rescue (BAR) group, and helps with website maintenance as well as events as often as possible.
Amy graduated with a BA in Mass Communication and a minor in Spanish from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
